Expat Reception 2023

We, at International Community and Aarhus University, are looking forward to meeting you, at this year's Expat Reception!

This year, the reception will take place at Aarhus Katedralskole, where there will be fun activities for both adults and children. This is a great opportunity to meet new people or see familiar faces, so be sure to mark the date on your calendar and don't forget to sign-up.

The Expat Reception is an annual tradition with 500-600 attendees where you can relax with your family and socialize with other expats while enjoying some complimentary refreshments. The event will be kicked off by the mayor of Aarhus, Jacob Bundsgaard, followed by live international music to enjoy along with cool beverages and food from Spiselauget. 

Make sure to bring your children to enjoy free Premier Is ice cream, and have tons of fun at the IKEA’s children corner. To heighten the fun, a professional face painter will be ready to create colorful artwork for those interested.

We've prepared a 'buddy corner,' and ice-breaker games for the newly-arrived residents and social butterflies. For those who wish to catch up with friends and family, the tranquil surroundings of the location serve as the perfect setting for a summer get-together.

The Expat Reception is free of charge, and when you sign-up you will automatically receive a complimentary drink, a free meal voucher as well as an invite for the official Expat Reception After Party held at Tir Na NÓg, where your ticket can be used to receive one free Carlsberg beer or a soda.

IMPORTANT: There will be 600 meal and drink vouchers available on the day of the reception. The tickets are given on the basis of first come, first serve.

15:25 Welcome speech by the mayor of Aarhus, Jacob Bundsgaard and CEO of Erhverv Aarhus, Poul Dalsgaard

15:40 Time to enjoy the activities and refreshments

17:00 The Expat Reception ends, and the official after-party at Tir Na NÓg begins
