Systemizing your approach in your network - The Networking Method

When you have identified your Job Goal Areas you can now start networking. You must approach your network in a systematic and qualified way, so you only contact the relations, who are relevant.

To identify the relevant contacts in your network, you can use this – The Networking Method:

You identify the contacts who have knowledge and/or contacts within your defined Job Goal Areas and start making contact by asking for either a network meeting, where the person shares his/her knowledge within this specific area with you – or you can ask the person if he/she has contacts, he/she can refer you to, who possess the knowledge you are looking for.

This is the approach:

If you can’t find any relevant contacts, you can reach out in your formal networks and on the social medias. Ask if anyone can refer you to people in their network with knowledge about your Job Goal Areas.
