SKAT Releases Foreign-language Guides
The Danish tax authority has released guides to the tax system in five different languages. The aim of the guides are to provide information for foreigners planning to come to Denmark to work, information about working and living in Denmark, as well as information about what to do when your employment in Denmark ends.
The guides are published in languages most spoken by internationals coming to work in Denmark. These include English, German, Romanian, Lithuanian and Polish. In January of 2018, over 200,000 internationals were in paid employment according to the tax authority.
Information includes how to apply for a personal tax card and number, as well as how to register income and deductions. The guides also inform foreigners how set up a bank account, how to use NemID which is necessary for getting access to the tax system.
