Ascension Day

Ascension Day is the 40th day of Easter and commemorates the ascension of Jesus into heaven 39 days after resurrection on Easter Sunday. In Denmark it is a public holiday. With Ascension Day being on a Thursday, this year 13 May, many people take the day of the following Friday resulting in a long weekend break. Many Danes will take the days off in their holiday cottage.
