Deficiency of vitamin D

One in five citizens in Denmark have a deficiency of vitamin D. Therefore, The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration’s official advise to take supplementary vitamin D. All children aged 2 weeks until 4 years should take vitamin D 10 µg all year long. If your child already takes a daily multivitamin supplement, the extra vitamin D is not necessary. Children older than 4 and adults should take a vitamin D supplement with 5-10 μg from October to April.
