Spouse Community Update Week 20

Tak for sidst!

Last Thursday at the Afternoon Coffee Spouse Community welcomed our members and new people and enjoyed great conversations. We welcome the new faces who joined us, and thank our regulars for the positive vibes as always  and we’re looking forward to seeing you all at our other events!

Event Highlight

Creative writing through skaldic poetry
Saturday, May 25 from 10.00 to 12.00
DOKK1, Hack Kampmanns Plads 2, 8000 Aarhus C
50 DKK
Open to Spouse Community members and non-members

Bring a notebook and pen to the workshop to get your creative juices flowing! Learn how to create a poem or a short essay in English, first following the rules of skaldic (Viking) poetry and later trying to elude them. After being aware of the pattern that leads to metaphorical creation, every participant will throughout the course learn how to find a personal voice. Eventually, they shall either gather metaphorical texts from a book or the participants can choose to write their own collection. The workshop costs 50 DKK and is open to both members and non-members of Spouse Community. Participants should assemble at Dokk1 reception area in the first floor at least 10 minutes before the event start time and shall be escorted to the meeting room. We have limited number of seats, so please sign-up by May 24, 2018 to secure your spot by clicking here.

Get involved with Spouse Community

We greatly value the contribution of our members and want to empower those who are open to sharing their ideas and skills with the rest of the community.  If you have a passion or event idea you’d like to share with the community – we’d love to hear from you!

We are also on the lookout for people to help us host our planned events. If you can spare your time in volunteering as a Spouse Community representative for a couple of hours in a month then write to us. Email us at spousecommunityaarhus@gmail.com

Become a member

We’d love you to join us! Spouse Community Aarhus is a community of enthusiastic international spouses and accompanying partners from all over the world that have settled in Aarhus and made this city our home. Anyone can become a member of Spouse Community Aarhus, whether you or your partner are internationals or Danes. We are lucky enough to have members of many ages and nationalities, both men and women, and some working or volunteering in Aarhus.

We are a non-profit volunteer-based organization and our nominal membership fee of 100kr per year (that’s about the price of two coffees!) goes directly back into putting on our events - so the more members we have, the more awesome events!

As a member you’ll also receive invitations to all our Spouse Community Aarhus events which are free to members (or in the instance there is an entry fee or ticket needed, we negotiate the best price possible for our members), and access to our members-only Facebook forum, a place to connect with members, ask questions and seek advice, and share events and articles.
