Volunteers for LEGO robot competition

Around 800 children and young students between 6 and 19 years old from 30+ countries are invited to participate in the LEGO robot competition World Robot Olympiad which will take place in Aarhus August 1- 4 2019.

We are looking for volunteers, that will help us make this a fantastic event for all the participant and make them feel welcome and at home in Aarhus, find their way around town, help them be in time for the tournament. Tasks can also include brewing coffee, delivering food and water etc. everything needed to make the event a success. The participants are all accompanied by responsible adults who act as guardians for the children, so this is not a responsibility for the volunteer.

Qualifications? A good level of English – and if you speak another language like Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Romanian, Malay fx. that would also be great, then we will try to set you up with teams that speak these languages. Some local knowledge of Aarhus is also preferable – and most importantly an interest in working with children from different countries and cultures – all with an interest in robotics (which you do not need to share with them).

Ideally volunteers should be able to work all 4 days, but less is also possible.

We guarantee that this will be an amazing experience for you as well as for the participants as this is not just a robotics competition but also a friendship tournament where the children will make friends across languages, cultures, religions, genders and age.
