Spouse Community Update - Week 46
Tak for Sidst – November POP-UP Event
We always encourage our members to take the initiative to organize POP-UP events, where people can spontaneously get together to do fun things and mingle. This time, our lovely member Kym organized for us to watch the Christmas Parade then get a drink together. Remember, any of our members can spontaneously arrange something as simple as that!
What is a Spouse? project
We at Spouse Community Aarhus consider ourselves as international individuals, who have fearlessly entered the Danish culture with the hope of thriving in Aarhus alongside our partners. Our 'What Is A Spouse?' project was launched at our one-year anniversary. The project is a compilation of inspiring stories from ‘spouses’ like you who have done just that. Each month we’ll bring you a new experience from spouses who have made Aarhus their home. For this month, read about Zane, a Latvian who moved to Denmark with her partner when they both took a spontaneous decision to study together in Aarhus. She has shared her experience of settling and finding ways to socialize and engage herself in Denmark and rediscovering her love for photography in Aarhus. Read more by clicking here.
Become a member
We’d love you to join us! Spouse Community Aarhus is a community of enthusiastic international spouses and accompanying partners from all over the world that have settled in Aarhus and made this city our home. Anyone can become a member of Spouse Community Aarhus, whether you or your partner are internationals or Danes. We are lucky enough to have members of many ages and nationalities, both men and women, and some working or volunteering in Aarhus.
We are a non-profit volunteer-based organization and our nominal membership fee of 100kr per year (that’s about the price of two coffees!) goes directly back into putting on our events - so the more members we have, the more awesome events!
As a member you’ll also receive invitations to all our Spouse Community Aarhus events which are free to members (or in the instance there is an entry fee or ticket needed, we negotiate the best price possible for our members), and access to our members-only Facebook forum, a place to connect with members, ask questions and seek advice, and share events and articles.

Spouse Community is run by spouses, for spouses; so, if you have a passion or event idea you’d like to share with the community – we’d love to hear from you! Email us at email@example.com
Weekly Danish Chat
Open to Spouse Community Members* only
Every week, our lovely Claudine hosts a Danish Chat session! It doesn’t matter what level you are currently at, all of our members are welcome to drop in. We sit around, enjoy some coffee and talk about anything we fancy in Danish. Claudine is there to help people with their accent, if they’re unsure of a word, or simply explain some of the language from one foreigner to another. To get access to the Danish Chat sessions, simply become a member!
