Spouse Community Update - Week 44

Tak for sidst!

Our members braved the cold and windy weather last Saturday and took the Danish Living 101 tour of the supermarket and farmers’ market conducted by our Danish Spouse Community member, Lisbeth. We went through different sections of Super Brugsen and interacted about the various types of milk, cheese, meat, vegetables and bread. We then walked through the lovely streets of Frederiksbjerg and strolled around the farmers’ market, Torvet at Ingerslev Boulevard where we talked about some new vegetables and plants that some of us haven’t seen in our own countries, bought some fresh produce and finished with some piping hot fiskefrikadeller and coffee.

Many thanks to Lisbeth for arranging the venue with Super Brugsen and for hosting the event. We also thank the participants for putting the bad weather behind and taking part in the event. Stay tuned for more updates on the Danish Living event series.

What is a Spouse? project

We at Spouse Community Aarhus consider ourselves as international individuals, who have fearlessly entered the Danish culture with the hope of thriving in Aarhus alongside our partners. Our 'What Is A Spouse?' project was launched at our one-year anniversary. The project is a compilation of inspiring stories from ‘spouses’ like you who have done just that. Each month we’ll bring you a new experience from spouses who have made Aarhus their home. For this month, read about Zane, a Latvian who moved to Denmark with her partner when they both took a spontaneous decision to study together in Aarhus. She has shared her experience of settling and finding ways to socialize and engage herself in Denmark and rediscovering her love for photography in Aarhus. Read more by clicking here
