What we can learn from Nordic and Mediterranean cuisines.
World Health Organization Europe has published a report that talks about the benefits of cuisines coming from the Nordic and Mediterranean region. The Mediterranean region is notable for its plant based foods such as vegetables, fruits and cereals. The Nordic diet consists primarily of fruits (specifically berries), fish and legumes. However, concerns have arisen due to the alimentary habits that are prevailing amongst the younger generations. It is important that society be aware of these benefits in order to help fight diseases such as cancer and type 2 diabetes.
